As an undergrad it all clicked. Although I was studying to be a veterinarian, I signed up for an event planning class, and one lecture in particular resonated with me so much that my future changed then and there. An internship for an event planner began that semester, and more followed throughout my time at the University of Georgia, over summers back home in New Jersey, and in Nashville working for the Country Music Association. My career in the events industry was born.
It all made sense. As a child, I would always draw houses and floor plans, and rearranged the furniture in my room, which I painted often. Design was my thing. I’ve long been inspired by new surroundings—from large cities to natural environments. And I’ve always read people well. Add my degree in Communication Studies, and I’ve been able to learn so much more about human interactions. My positive outlook, hardworking attitude, and organized approach, allow me to plan and execute those visions I create on behalf of my couples.
As an event planner and designer, it’s my job to guide people to take a step back, to see the big picture, and make decisions from the heart. To hear what they want in their big day and design a way to make that happen. To create environments for couples and their loved ones to immerse themselves in and fully enjoy each other’s company.
In my decade-plus of experience, I’ve planned an elopement for 10 in the mountains of Wyoming and a wedding for 475 in eastern Tennessee, and celebrations of every size in between at locations across the country.
Besides loving weddings and everything they stand for, I am also a big Southern food junkie. My heart (and appetite) is easily won over with mac and cheese and biscuits. Though my heart is always full thanks to my husband, Brandon, our daughter, Caroline, and son, Henry, and our black lab, Boone.
While I call Virginia home, I am happy to travel to locations worldwide.
My work has taken me to: Rhode Island, Tennessee, Maryland, South Carolina, Utah, Florida, New York, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Wyoming, and California.
She somehow always managed to make me feel like my wedding was just as important to her as it was to me.
